09:00 – 10:30  Welcome + Keynote

Keynote on “Google Earth: Making 'Where' Easy”

Martin ‘MC’ Brown, author of the book Hacking Google Maps and Google Earth

Abstract: Merging address and location information has frequently been either difficult or expensive. Google Maps and Google Earth are solutions that simplify the process. The LoCA 2006 Keynote presentation will  examine the issues and use of these tools, starting with understanding how to think with location in mind, and moving on to  looking at the details and mechanics of both Google Maps and Google Earth as solutions to your location applications. Throughout we'll look at the information you have and how to translate that into the information required building applications that show and highlight the information you want.
